You will hear a lot about NEXT STEPS at SouthField. Spiritual Formation happens one step at a time. We take some steps as a community in our walk with Christ, and others are solo steps. Here are some you might consider:

BELIEVER'S BAPTISM BY IMMERSION

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward condition. Being baptized tells others that you’ve decided to follow Jesus and that He is doing a new work in you. This event invites others to celebrate with you (Acts 16:31-34). Baptism doesn’t make a person a Christian; it’s an expression of salvation we have already received (1 Peter 3:21). The power that brought Jesus back to life is the same power Jesus uses to change our lives – and that’s worth getting excited about!

PARTICIPATING MEMBERSHIP

Church membership is not necessary for salvation or even for participating in the life of our church. So why pursue it? One word--commitment. It is a way of saying, "This is my church family. I am here. My heart is here. I planting roots and committing deeply to this local body." To learn more about participating membership, go here.

SERVING LIKE JESUS

Serving is about more than filling a need. We serve to grow in Christ-likeness. Jesus was the greatest servant of all. We serve be like Him. There are many opportunities to serve at SouthField. Just remember, your serve has less to do with how you are going to change the world than how God is going to change you. Why not try a Soft Serve?

JOURNEY GROUPS

Isolation and loneliness mark our times. We need each other. Journey Groups offer the opportunity for connection. They also provide a pathway toward transformation. God desire movement beyond information to transformation. The spiritual life is about more than facts and feelings, it is about being formed into the likeness of God's Son (Romans 8:29).
